Fish, Chips & Ice Cream
A coastal tiki tour, a fish and chip picnic at Kawakawa Bay, and real fruit ice cream on the way home.
Another stunning summer's day. Coffee came first, sitting beside the mangrove-lined estuary at the Lime Tree Café in Whitford, before a scenic loop through Beachlands, Sunkist Bay and Pine Harbour with Waiheke Island on the horizon.
We picked up our lunch from Clevedon Seafood Takeaways and spread out the Silver Rose picnic gear under the trees at Kawakawa Bay. The tide was high, and so were our spirits. After lunch we drove through Waitawa Regional Park for some of the best coastal views you'll find anywhere.
No day like this is complete without dessert, so we stopped for real fruit ice cream at Jimmy's in Ardmore on the way home.
